Message Take Aways:

1. King Amaziah showed great potential by initially doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but a disloyal heart caused him to stray from righteousness—“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13

2. The pride of King Amaziah led to a disastrous military defeat, causing his kingdom to suffer great loss—“Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18

3. Though King Jeroboam was spiritually depraved, the Lord utilized him to preserve Israel in accordance with His covenantal promise—“He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,” Psalm 105:8
