Message Take Aways:

1. King Ahaz is remembered as a wicked king because he continually walked in the abominations of the pagan nations—“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

2. King Ahaz wrongly believed an alliance with man would be more beneficial that trusting the word of God, which ultimately resulted in his being enslaved and abandoned—“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4

3. The apostasy ushered in by King Ahaz was rooted in spiritual compromise and a fleshly desire to please man, and it eventually resulted in judgment from the Lord—“The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.” Proverbs 10:7
