2 Corinthians 9
Take Aways for 2 Corinthians 9
1. Paul urged the Corinthians to follow through with their promised gift, and we, as fellow believers, should be a people committed to fulfilling that which the Lord has laid on our hearts—“And in this I give advice: It is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; but now you also must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have.” 2 Corinthians 8:10-11
2. As Paul encouraged the Corinthians to be willing, generous, and cheerful givers, we should aim to do the same, knowing that giving bountifully as the Holy Spirit leads will enrich us, support the needs of ministry, edify others, and glorify God—“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him…and whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,” Colossians 3:17, 23
