2 Samuel 23:1-39
Take Aways:
1. Reflecting on God’s goodness and faithfulness produced gratitude in David which resulted in worship, and we will desire to do likewise as we meditate on God’s love and kindness towards us demonstrated by the giving of His Son Jesus Christ in the place of sinful man that we might become children of God—“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” 1 John 3:1
2. David was blessed to be surrounded by warriors who were appointed by God to support him in his calling as the Lord never intended for David to operate in solitude, and we must realize our need to be supported by fellow Spirit-filled believers in the battle while recognizing the great blessing that comes from being in fellowship with the brethren—“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
