Psalm 51
Calvary Chapel McKinney Pastor James Marini leads a special message on Psalm 51. From Sunday, April 6th, 2025.
Message Take Aways:
1. As David wisely acknowledged his sin with a guilty plea, so we must recognize our sin before God and accept our need for a Savior—“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15
2. Once David confessed his sin, he was able to confidently petition the Lord for restoration knowing the merciful character of God; we who trust in Jesus Christ have access to come boldly before the throne of God to request His gracious provision in all things—“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
3. Just as David responded to God’s forgiveness by pledging his life and kingdom to glorify the Lord, so we too are called to respond to our salvation in Christ with willful submission that glorifies God in all things—“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5
