2. Elijah courageously proclaimed God’s coming judgment upon the land of Israel because of their unrepentant sin—“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.” Malachi 4:5
3. The Lord faithfully provided for Elijah as the prophet trusted and obeyed the word of God—“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
4. The gentile widow made a genuine profession of faith after she witnessed the Lord’s omnipotence in the midst of her trial—“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” James 1:2-3
